The EU Council is expected to take a decision on negotiations with Albania

The Council of the European Union is expected to take today the decision to open negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia, reports News24.

Recall that on Thursday, Prime Minister Rama warned on social networks that there may be good news coming from Bulgaria regarding the integration process of Albania and Northern Macedonia.

Rama posted on Facebook a video from the proceedings of the NATO summit in Madrid.

"Maybe good news today," Rama wrote as he was seen talking to Western leaders and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.

Recall that an EU summit on June 23-24 failed to take a decision to hold the first intergovernmental conference with the two Western Balkan countries that share their offer of integration, due to the Bulgarian veto.

This led to a long-distance clash between Prime Minister Rama and senior Bulgarian officials, who described the veto as a disgrace.
