"Frozen conflicts are used to escape from accountability", Basha posts the video: Belgrade should hold the perpetrators of the attack in Bajnska accountable
The chairman of the DP-Euro-Atlantic Democrats, Lulzim Basha, has posted a video on Facebook from yesterday's speech at the Subcommittee for the Western Balkans of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which was held in Belgrade.
Basha has strongly criticized the use of nationalist rhetoric by politicians in the region, describing it as a tactic to avoid responsibility.
According to him, the frozen conflicts are being used as an alibi to escape from accountability, and today Belgrade must hold accountable the perpetrators of the attack in Bajnska, who are still at large in Serbia.
Basha's full post:
It has become common practice for incompetent and corrupt politicians to hide behind nationalistic rhetoric.
Frozen conflicts are the alibi to escape from responsibility to the citizens and to use them for political interests.
If Kosovo were a member of the Council of Europe, they would also monitor the implementation of the rights of Serbs in Kosovo. Why does official Belgrade not want this? Do they really care about Serbs in Kosovo?
Kosovo is independent! This is an irreversible reality. Its independence has been recognized by the majority of UN member states, and has been considered in accordance with International Law by the International Court of Justice.
Instead of scrambling to preserve frozen conflicts, today Belgrade should bring to justice the perpetrators of the attack in Bajnska, who are still at large here in Serbia.
