Unprecedented incident in the Criminal Court of Justice/ Meta abandons request for replacement of security measure

The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has withdrawn the request for the replacement of the security measure he had submitted to the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO).

The request for a change in the measure was previously filed by Meta, but during the hearing held at the GJKKO he decided to withdraw this request.

As a result, the court will no longer consider the request for a replacement security measure, while the measure previously imposed on the former President of the Republic remains in force. The reasons for Meta's decision, as to why he has abandoned the request for a replacement measure, have not yet been made public.
