"Non Grata" from the USA, Tom Doshi gives up his mandate as MP!
Tom Doshi and Sabina Jorgo, both part of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) list in the May 11 elections, have given up their parliamentary mandates.
Doshi and Jorgo ran on the PSD's closed lists in Shkodra.
We recall that Tom Doshi was declared 'non grata' by the United States of America a few years ago.
Today, the first parliamentary session of this new session was held, where all the deputies elected on May 11th are being sworn in.
Doshi and Sabina Jorgo's decision came shortly before the Assembly session resumed, for the swearing-in of the lawmakers.
Meanwhile, during this morning's plenary session, tensions and clashes between the majority and the opposition were accompanied by the Democratic Party, which does not recognize the results of the May 11 elections, despite its decision to enter the Assembly.
Also, earlier, Tom Doshi's PSD requested the burning of the mandates of the closed list in Tirana, a request that was accepted by the Central Election Commission.
This decision resulted in the PSD mandate in Tirana being taken by the candidate with the most votes from the open list, Tedi Mula.
