"I left the country on Friday"/ Berisha requested a postponement for the testimony about "January 21", SPAK: Appear this Wednesday
SPAK has scheduled Wednesday, November 19, at 09:00, for the appearance of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha to give testimony regarding the investigations into the "January 21" file, in the capacity of a person with knowledge.
We recall that through his lawyer, Berisha asked SPAK to postpone the questioning, which was scheduled for November 21, as he will not be in Albania, but on a visit abroad.
This is the third summons that SPAK confirms it has issued to Berisha to appear. For the first two, the head of the blue headquarters stated that they had not attended and that his address is public.
We recall that on January 21, 2011, during a protest by the then opposition in front of the Prime Minister's Office, four protesters were killed, Faik Myrtaj, Hekuran Deda, Aleks Nika and Ziver Veizi.
SPAK registered criminal proceedings for the January 21, 2011 event, after the Supreme Court decided a year and a half ago to overturn previous court decisions and ordered the initiation of investigations into the Nika family's complaint against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and former Interior Minister Lulzim Basha.
Relatives of Aleks Nika, one of the protesters killed in front of the prime minister's office during the Socialist Party protest on January 21, 2011, accuse Berisha, Basha, and former commander of the Republican Guard, Ndrea Prendi, of ordering the shooting of protest participants.
