The hearing on the change of the prison sentence for Mayor Erion Veliaj has been postponed to April 23.
It is reported that the prosecutor in the case, Ols Dado, has presented the investigative actions carried out, while Veliaj's lawyers have requested time to familiarize themselves with the acts.
The Mayor of Tirana was arrested on February 10, 2025 by the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) on charges of corruption and money laundering.
According to SPAK, Veliaj and his wife, Ajola Xoxa, are suspected of having created a mechanism to illegally benefit from public funds.
