"Veliaj will return to office"/ SP Advisor: We will explain why we "betrayed" him

The left-wing councilor in the municipality of Tirana, Alfred Muharremi, expressed confidence that Erion Veliaj will return to the leadership of the capital, following the Constitutional Court's decision.

On Terminal on A2 CNN, Muharremi said that Veliaj will also be explained the "betrayal" of the councilors' vote for his dismissal.

"We hope that he will return to his duties physically, because he is in office. I hope that he will return and that we will give him an answer and, perhaps by communicating the normal chaos towards the council members that Veliaj cited, explain the reasons why it happened. This has been one of the most difficult decisions, there has been debate. For us, personal interest does not prevail, but that of the citizens. It was just said that we are afraid of the elections. On May 11, we emerged as the first force. And Veliaj was unjustly handcuffed. Veliaj was handcuffed in February. And on May 11, Tirana voted for the SP," Muharremi told journalist Aurora Sulçe.
