Sad! The well-known writer passes away

The well-known writer Rosa Regàs passed away this Wednesday at her residence in Llofriu (Girona) at the age of 90 for reasons that are not yet known, the family announced. Her name won all kinds of prizes and recognitions, such as the Nadal prize, the Planeta prize or the José Luis Sampedro prize, among many others.
The deceased, daughter of playwright Xavier Regàs i Castells and Mariona Pagès, graduated in Philosophy at the University of Barcelona. Her first professional scene was with the publisher Seix Barral (1964-1970). She was the founder of the publishing house La Gaya Ciencia and the magazines Arquitecturas Bis and Cuadernos de la Gaya Ciencia.
In the 1980s, she began offering services as a freelance translator for major organizations, such as the UN. Her works include Memoria de Almator, Azul, Viaje a la luz del Cham and Luna Lunera, Dorotea's Song and Diary of a Summer Grandmother, among others.
Between 2004 and 2007 she was director of the National Library, but her disagreements with the then Minister of Culture, César Antonio Molina, caused her to leave the unit and retire to the Catalan region of Ampurdán.
