More than 15,000 people gathered this weekend at the Armani Theater in Milan to bid farewell to the "king" of Italian fashion, Giorgio Armani, who passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 91.
The body of the legendary designer was laid to rest for public homage, while Monday has been declared an official day of mourning in the city of Milan.
According to what has been announced, the private funeral ceremony will be held tomorrow in Armani's native village, Valta di Rentina, in the province of Piacenza, southeast of Milan.
Tributes from the world of fashion, politics and sports
The public tributes were attended by well-known figures from various fields such as fashion, art, politics and sports. Donatella Versace brought a bouquet of white flowers on Saturday, while her brother, Santo Versace, appeared tearful on Sunday.
Also in attendance were Dean and Dan Caten, the Canadian duo behind the Dsquared2 brand, Ferrari line creator Rocco Iannone, British designer Neil Barrett and Italian Andrea Incontri.
