Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has been embroiled in a new scandal after he was allegedly caught drinking pot in prison, despite his promise to quit drinking for the first time in 25 years. Combs, 56, is incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix, where he is serving a four-year sentence on prostitution-related charges.
According to TMZ, Combs was caught drinking homemade alcohol. The alcohol was made by mixing sugar, Fanta, and apples, which were fermented for two weeks, resulting in an alcoholic beverage. This has caused a clash with prison authorities. When asked about these allegations, a prison official stated that he had no information regarding the incident.
In a letter Combs sent to the court before his sentencing, he said he was clean from alcohol and drugs for the first time in 25 years and that he had lost his way because of addiction. He called prison an opportunity to change and be reborn as a new person, writing: “The old version of me died in prison and a new version was reborn.”
Through a statement to the media, a representative for Diddy said that he is in his first week in prison and is focused on his personal improvement, asking that the public give him the opportunity to evolve without being bothered by rumors.
Meanwhile, Diddy celebrated his 56th birthday in prison, where he had pizza for dinner. A photo of him in prison garb has gone viral, showing the visible changes he has undergone during his time in prison.
