The number of suspects in the investigation into the death of Liam Payne has risen to five, as two employees of the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires have been placed under official investigation. These two employees include the receptionist who called 911 when the accident occurred and another person who was among those who escorted the singer down the hall shortly before the tragic event.
A shocking photo showing the behavior of hotel staff has sparked concerns, including the decision not to let Liam Payne in the lobby until help arrived. According to the Argentinian portal Infobae, Judge Laura Bruniard has made a decision to include these two employees in the investigation and has ordered them to engage lawyers for defense. They are expected to be questioned by the authorities next week, between December 17 and 19.
Prosecutors are considering manslaughter charges against the employees after they were filmed removing Liam Payne from the hotel lobby shortly before he fell from the third-floor balcony on October 16. Officials have ruled out suicide, saying Payne may have been unconscious when he fell, citing a lack of "survival reflexes."
