Adeyem's illegal weapons scandal! Is he at risk of expulsion from Germany?

Borussia Dortmund star and Germany international Karim Adeyemi has been in the spotlight over the weekend after German tabloid Bild reported that the 22-year-old striker has been issued a criminal order and fined €450,000 for illegal weapons possession. According to the report, Adeyemi was in possession of a knuckle duster and a taser, two items that are considered prohibited weapons in Germany and classified as devices that endanger public safety.

Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann faced questions about the incident during a press conference on Sunday. He confirmed that he had spoken to the player along with national team sporting director Rudi Völler, but stressed that the immediate priority was Monday's crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.

"But this is an issue that requires a lot of time and attention. We have an important match tomorrow. So we will deal with this issue after the match."

The coach's statement clearly shows that the German national team is trying to avoid any distractions before the next decisive challenge.

Despite the noise, Adeyemi is expected to be part of the squad for the match against Slovakia. According to sources from the German camp, the player will be ready to play, as the legal issue does not prevent his involvement in sporting activities.

A draw is enough for Germany to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup, which makes Monday's challenge even more important.
