Murder of Liridona Ademaj/ Lawyer for the 30-year-old's family: I tell you

On January 15 of this year, the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina announced the completion of the investigations and the filing of indictments for the 4 people involved in the murder of Liridona Ademaj in Kosovo, among them the 30-year-old's husband, Naim Murseli.

The lawyer for the family of the deceased 30-year-old, Leotrim Syla, was invited to "Studio Live" with Arbër Hitaj on Report TV, where he discussed the charges against the 4 defendants and the continuation of the legal process.

"The prosecution has completed the investigations into the case of the murder of Liridona Ademaj and has filed an indictment against the three co-perpetrators, along with the fourth person who only participated in the sale of the weapon with which the murder was committed. While the first 3 are accused of aggravated murder, the fourth person is only accused of selling the weapon. Two other defendants, Granit Plava and Kushtrim Kokalla, also have another charge against them. Granit Plava is charged with possession of a weapon and Kushtrim Kokalla, in addition to the criminal offense of aggravated murder, is also charged with the criminal offense of failure to report the criminal offense," Syla said.

"In the next session, because it will be the initial examination according to the Criminal Procedure Code, it can be closed if the same pleads guilty, while if the same pleads not guilty, we move on to the objection to the indictment and the objection to the evidence, which gives them the right to send the same to the court for confirmation. So the court must pass this stage before proceeding to trial", - he added.
Lawyer Syla emphasized that based on the indictment and the evidence obtained so far, it results that Liridona Ademaj was killed by her husband, Naim Murseli.

"I can tell you with full responsibility, based on what the indictment says: the husband was not only the orderer but also the co-perpetrator, so he physically participated in the commission of the criminal offense", - underlined the lawyer of the family of the deceased 30-year-old.
"For the prosecution, the motives were also financial, family problems and personal issues of Naimi himself. The prosecution has linked the financial motives to the fact that Naimi had financial problems and paid for an insurance policy for the deceased Liridona, so that after her murder he could benefit in the state of Sweden. Among the other motives, it has listed the family problems he had with Liridona, according to Naimi's statement, and other external motives, as presented in the media, there are none in the indictment", - added lawyer Syla.
According to him, the file also talks about the marital problems that Liridona Murseli had with Naim Murseli

"Something like this is mentioned in the indictment and why, because it is not directly related to the indictment and the murder, but because it was one of the problems that Liridona had with Naim, during their married life, which, according to Naim Murseli's statement, is in some way driven by a family problem that he had with Liridona as a result of that case," said Syla.
Liridona Ademaj was killed on November 29, 2023 on "Dalip Alshiqi" street in Pristina. Initially, the event was reported as a murder as a result of robbery, but the investigations took a different course, the murderer was precisely her husband Naim Murseli.

Two days later, on December 1, 2023, when Liridona was also escorted to her last apartment, Naim Murseli and Granit Plava were arrested. The latter is suspected of executing Ademaj on the orders of Naim Murseli, who according to him had promised him 30 thousand euros if he carried out the murder, part of which he had given him.

The third arrest was confirmed just a few hours later, after Kushtrim Kokallë, a member of the Kosovo Security Forces, was handcuffed. A fourth person, Tome Dodaj, was also arrested, who is suspected of providing the weapon used to commit the murder.
