Find out why Meghan Markle always wears long dresses
Meghan Markle wears clothes from smaller brands that are not well known to the biggest fashion houses, experts have claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, has often opted for floor-length dresses over the past six years - most recently wearing a £360 pair of trousers to a business summit in the Hamptons at the weekend.

Speaking to FEMAIL, celebrity designer Rochelle White said Meghan's trousers were a sample pair from St Agni and therefore it was not possible to change their length - or because they have to be returned because they were given to the designer and not directly to Meghan herself to hold.

Fashion expert Giorgina Ramazzotti said: "As a celebrity and actress before joining the royal family, Meghan would be very used to a world in which everything is loaned out for photoshoots, an appearance or borrowed from the wardrobe as a piece of her character on Suits.”

"Celebrities rarely have to part with hard cash in exchange for fashion items. Often the items are given as gifts, loaned out for special events, or the star is given a deep discount to buy the brand, and while Meghan wasn't a well-known actress before she met Prince Harry, she would be given still free. – albeit from smaller brands.”

'When she joined the royal family, she soon discovered that loans and gifts from designers were forbidden, and the star was undoubtedly given a pass to dress up.'

After Meghan and Harry's 'tour' in Nigeria in May, celebrity stylist Rochelle argued that the Duchess often wears floor-length dresses to give her the illusion of height.

She said: 'Long dresses and trousers, depending on body type, can help to elongate the body.'

"They can make you look taller and depending on the styles can help define areas of the body you want to emphasize or cover up."
