Atalanta does not wait any longer, dismisses coach Juric, replaces Raffaele Palladino

Big move on the Atalanta bench. After the heavy defeat to Sassuolo, the leaders of the club from Bergamo have decided to end their collaboration with Ivan Juric and entrust the team to Raffaele Palladino, former coach of Fiorentina.

Despite the Champions League victory over Marseille, the results in the league have not convinced, so the club has reacted immediately.

Palladino has signed a contract with the Bergamo team and now only the official announcement regarding his appointment is awaited.

After refusing to return to Fiorentina to replace Pioli, 41-year-old Palladino is ready to take over the "Little Lady", essentially maintaining the tactical structure built by Gasperini, but with his own ideas for the further development of the team.

His staff is expected to include Stefano Citterio as assistant coach and Federico Peluso, former Atalanta player.

Meanwhile, Thiago Motta has never been a real option for the Atalanta bench, even though a possible move would have eased the financial burden on Juventus, who are still paying his salary after his dismissal.

For Juric, this is the third dismissal in a year. On November 10, 2024, he left Roma after 12 matches (4 wins, 5 losses, 2 draws).

In December he was appointed to Southampton, but lasted only 16 games (2 wins, 1 draw, 13 losses), before leaving in April 2025.

With Atalanta, his record included 15 matches, 4 wins, 8 draws and 3 losses.

After the defeat to Sassuolo, Juric stated: "The responsibility is always the coach's.

"I'm not worried about my future, but I accept that we were not at the right level." Just a few hours later, the club decided to end its adventure in Bergamo.
