Florentino Perez unhappy even though Real Madrid are leading, loses faith in the coach

Things are actually going well for the Spaniards – at least on the pitch. Real Madrid are top of the La Liga table, ahead of arch-rivals Barca. But Xabi Alonso, in particular, is facing increasing criticism.
Now, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez's support for the former Leverkusen title-winning coach seems to be waning. According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Pérez's doubts about Alonso are growing. The reason? He sees no improvement in Real's game since the sacking of coach Carlo Ancelotti. Real are playing as they did a year ago, compact in defence, with stars Mbappe, Vinícius and Bellingham in attack, without modern pressing, without a tactical revolution.
A statement from the president, quoted by the newspaper, is already circulating in Madrid: “I don’t see any modernity in Xabi Alonso.” The debate with Vinícius Junior continues to cause particular uproar. After being substituted in the “Clásico” against Barça, the Brazilian reacted angrily. According to reports, the club did not punish Vinícius, leaving Alonso out of the game. The coach is said to be internally disappointed that Real Madrid did not support him.
