Kane lashes out at those who left the team: Shame, the national team comes before the club
Harry Kane has admitted he is disappointed with the number of players who have withdrawn from the England squad this week (nine) ahead of the Nations League games.
The England captain has reminded the players that they have forgotten the importance of representing their country.
" I think that the national team is before everything. England is before the club, it is the most important thing for a professional footballer. Gareth Southgate brought the joy of playing for England back. He was not afraid to make decisions if this desire began to be felt in some players , "said Harry Kane.
Asked if he too was considering taking time off this week, Kane added: " It's a shame, obviously. It's a difficult period of the season and maybe they've taken a little advantage. I don't really like leaving, to be completely honest. England is ahead of everything and every club situation ."
Aaron Ramsdale, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Levi Colwill, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden were initially withdrawn from the squad, while Jarrad Branthwaite left the Three Lions squad on Wednesday. England will play Greece in Athens in the Nations League.
