Liverpool secures first acquisition with Arne Slot, almost signing the player who surprised everyone during Euro 2024
Liverpool has intensified talks to sign the goalkeeper of Valencia, Djorxhi Mamardashvili. Mail Sport revealed earlier this week that the English club were exploring the possibility of signing one of Europe's top goalkeepers with a view to taking him out on loan elsewhere first.
Bournemouth had been mooted as a possible destination, but Liverpool cannot buy then loan him to another Premier League club as it is a breach of the rules. Liverpool doubts that Mamardashvili would be Alison's number two and has some doubts. The Brazilian remains the team's number one and will probably be for the next two seasons.
However, they want to take the opportunity to sign a goalkeeper of Mamardashvili's caliber. Kaoimhin Kelleher could also leave this summer as he wants to play regular football. Liverpool had made no bid for the Georgian as of Tuesday evening, but they are determined to sign the player in the coming weeks and also find a solution to where he can play this season. A loan spell at Valencia is also an option.
