Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine's plan to defeat Russia depends on Washington's support.
He made these statements after the meeting in Kiev with the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.
"As for the victory plan... it mainly depends on the support of the United States and other partners," Zelensky said during a media conference.
His statements come only two months before the presidential elections are held in the US, the result of which may present a challenge to Ukraine.
Zelensky said he has a plan, according to which the war would end by November, when the US elections are held.
He has argued that the surprise incursion of Ukrainian troops into Russia's Kursk region allows Kiev to enter potential negotiations from a position of strength.
In June, Ukraine held a peace summit in Switzerland, where leaders and top officials from more than 90 countries attended, but Russia was not invited to the summit.
Zelensky has since said that Moscow will have to be involved in a subsequent meeting.
The Kremlin, which launched its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has ruled out talks since Ukraine launched its Kursk offensive./REL
