"We can lose, we can win"/ Vučić insists that Serbia and Albania play in Leskovac

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has publicly stated that he wants the Serbian national team to play its matches in Leskovac, instead of Belgrade. During an interview with 'Informer TV', Vučić criticized the Federation's secretary general, Branko Radujk, for the decision to move the team from Leskovac.
The president recalled the 4-1 defeat to England in Belgrade in 1987, saying that the city never understood the importance of the national team. He added that many teams, such as Switzerland and Denmark, have played in Leskovac without a problem, while England did not accept this facility.
The focus remains on the behavior of the fans and the possible punishment that Serbia could receive from UEFA and FIFA, but Vučić is optimistic about a wonderful atmosphere in Leskovac.
Many believe that the Serbian president was hurt by the chants against him at the packed "Rajko Mitić" stadium, which is why he is demanding that the match against Albania be held in a stadium with a capacity of around 8,000 seats.
“Why didn’t we play in Leskovac? No one can explain it to me, except that the English asked for it. I said it then, when it happened. Now they say: ‘We made a mistake, now we’ll play Albania in Leskovac.’ And of course it will be the best possible atmosphere. We may lose, we may win, but it will be the best possible atmosphere. If they allow us to have any fans in the stands, UEFA, FIFA, I don’t know who decides, because of the fans’ violations, in Leskovac it will be a wonderful atmosphere, at least people will support Serbia. With all their strength, with all their heart. Leskovac is our fortress.”
