
Manchester United legend passes away

World football has learned today the sad news of the passing of one of the legends who made this sport famous. Denis Law, the former Scottish striker famous in the 60s and 70s, has passed away at the age of 84.
He is considered one of the biggest names of those years, especially when he wore the Manchester United jersey, with which he won almost everything in European football, while also being the winner of the "Ballon d'Or" in 1964.
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our father, Denis Louw, has passed away at the age of 84. He fought a difficult battle, but is now finally at peace. We thank all those who have contributed to his health and care, in the past and in recent times. We know how much people have supported him and how much they have loved him. This love has always been appreciated and has made a difference ," the family's message announcing the passing of the former footballer, who in recent years had been battling Alzheimer's and dementia.
Lowe is one of the brightest icons in Manchester United's history and a statue of him stands in front of Old Trafford.
