Albanian man who caused tragic accident in Italy where father of three lost his life surrenders

A serious fatal accident has rocked the Martinsicuro area, in the Abruzzo region, Italy. The victim is 47-year-old Emidio Croci, a father of three, who was traveling with his family when he was fatally hit by a vehicle driven by a 41-year-old Albanian, with the initials AK, a resident of San Benedetto del Tronto.
According to Italian media, the Albanian was at the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz A-Class, which was moving at high speed, when it collided with a Mercedes GLB SUV, in which the Croci family was located.
From the fatal blow, the 47-year-old man lost his life on the spot, while his wife was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and the 11-year-old son was transported by helicopter to the Ancona hospital, where fortunately his life is out of danger.
After the accident, the Albanian and his passenger fled the scene on foot without rendering aid. Italian authorities immediately launched a search, and a few hours later the 41-year-old turned himself in to police.
He was taken to hospital for medical treatment and is being investigated for "road homicide" and "leaving the scene of the crime," as he is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, the second passenger in the vehicle remains at large, while the victim's body has been sent to the Teramo hospital morgue for forensic examinations.
