Apple is offering $1 million to anyone who hacks its new servers
Apple is offering up to $1 million if a hacker successfully breaks into the company's new servers, they focus on artificial intelligence.
The company designed Private Cloud Compute servers to address privacy concerns. The servers will delete a user request after it has been made, and they also provide encryption, meaning the company will not be able to receive user requests made through the Apple Intelligence AI system.
Apple asked security experts to review the privacy feature. They started with a group of researchers, but have since expanded the survey to members of the public.
"To further encourage your research into Private Cloud Compute, we are expanding the Apple Security Bounty to include bounties for vulnerabilities that demonstrate a compromise of PCC's fundamental security and privacy guarantees," the company announced.
Rewards include $250,000 for finding a way to remotely breach Private Cloud Compute and exposing a user's claim. There is also an impressive $1 million reward if arbitrary code execution errors are discovered.
Apple announced that it will also reward reports "even if they don't match a published category."
"We believe that Private Cloud Compute is the most advanced security architecture, and we look forward to working with the research community to build trust in the system and make it even more secure and private over time," he added.
