Facebook starts eradicating all fraudulent and fake accounts

Meta announced this week that it has removed over two million accounts linked to fraud centers in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines.
The company said it is going after criminal organizations that are using schemes to trick people around the world through text messages, to convince them to invest in something under false pretenses.
It is known that in order to be more effective in eliminating fraudulent accounts, Meta has cooperated with law enforcement bodies, the media write.
For those who are not aware, this scam is about building trustworthy personal relationships online with someone, only to manipulate them into depositing money and ultimately losing it.
In order to build trust with the victim, these scams often allow the target to withdraw small amounts of money, but once they start demanding a return on their "investment" or it becomes clear that they have no more money, the scammers disappear.
These scams first appeared during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.
