Mark Zuckerberg leaves behind Jeff Bezos, becomes the second richest person in the world! Here's who tops the list
Mark Zuckerberg has become the second richest person in the world for the first time.
The CEO and co-founder of Meta has overtaken Amazon's Jeff Bezos as his company's stock soared.
The 40-year-old's net worth now stands at $206.2 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, putting him £1.1 billion ahead of Bezos but almost $50 billion behind the world's richest man, Tesla's Elon Musk.
Meta's market value rose about 10% to $1.45 trillion yesterday after its shares hit an all-time high of $582.77.
The growth was driven by the unveiling of the first working prototype of augmented reality glasses, called Orion, and the introduction of new AI capabilities for its services.
In September, Meta said more than 400 million people were using its AI services every month, including 185 million returning to it every week.
