YouTube suspends monetization of Russell Brand's channel after sexual assault allegations

After accusations of sexual assault against Russell Brand by at least 5 women, YouTube has decided to suspend the operation of his channel.
YouTube announced on Tuesday, September 19 that it has blocked Russell Brand's online channel from monetization following allegations of a series of sexual assaults.
The 48-year-old former British presenter and actor, who is now mostly active on social media, has denied the allegations, saying all his relationships were "consensual" and claiming a "coordinated attack" against him.
Police in London announced yesterday that they had received a complaint against Russell Brand for alleged sexual assault 20 years ago, adding to revelations made by four other women over the weekend.
Referring to the case revealed by the Sunday Times and Channel 4, London police said on Sunday that they had been informed of a sexual assault allegedly committed by Brad in 2003 in Soho. Officers "are in contact with the woman" who made the complaint, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.
"We continue to encourage anyone who believes they have been sexually assaulted, however long ago, to contact us," he added.
