The "solo fight" of the British father for the death of his daughter in Albania: I will never stop until I find justice

George Gannon says he will never stop seeking answers about the events that led to his daughter's death while diving in Albania. The 61-year-old, from Stone, Staffordshire, said in an interview with Sky News that he has not yet been able to cry after losing his 29-year-old daughter.
The former bakery owner added that over the past 12 months he has spent his life savings trying to figure out what exactly happened to his daughter.
"I will never stop, never, never, until I get justice."
George suspects that whatever happened, there was plenty of time for Rebekah to be saved. He believes her death could have been prevented, not least considering the water where she is thought to have died was only seven meters deep.
George remembers being 'stunned' when he heard the news last year and says he has received no help from either the Albanian or the British government.
"I've just been out there fighting for my daughter without any help and when I've tried to contact people but they just don't talk. It's like the whole situation has been swept under the rug and never happened."
A UK Foreign Office spokesman said: 'We are assisting the family of a British national who died in Albania and are in contact with the local authorities.'
