"The general of the army is imprisoned!", Together Movement protests

The Together Movement held a protest today in front of the Albanian Parliament, demanding responsibility from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, for the multi-million euro affairs that have been taken under investigation by SPAK.

"If someone in the village builds a wall without permission, they go to jail, but if you steal from the poorest people in Europe, not only do you not go to jail, but you are also protected by the number 1 in power," one of the protesters was heard saying.

During the protest, supporters of the Together Movement held numerous banners in their hands, which read: "The general of the imprisoned army", referring to Prime Minister Rama, or others, such as: "Rama and Balluku stole our holidays"; "The people sow, the oligarch reaps"; "Who sows hunger, reaps revolt";, etc.

We recall that Belinda Balluku has been taken under investigation by the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), under suspicion of violating equality in tenders.

SPAK has also asked the Albanian Parliament to lift her immunity, which, according to the law, would pave the way for stricter security measures, including arrest.
