A bystander who tried to prevent the incident was also stabbed.
Through an official announcement, the Durrës Police have shed more light on this crime, which occurred just a few minutes ago in neighborhood no. 12 of the coastal city.
56-year-old Mikel Ndoj, under still unclear circumstances, stabbed his daughter, Jessica Ndoj. At the moment he was shooting the young woman, a passerby intervened to prevent the tragedy.
As a result, the latter was also injured and, together with the 24-year-old, is currently in the Durrës city hospital, fortunately out of danger.
Meanwhile, Mikel Ndoj, immediately after the incident, quickly fled, while the police are pursuing him with the aim of finding and arresting him.
“On 26.01.2026, at around 10:03, citizen MN, 56 years old, under still unclear circumstances, injured his daughter, citizen Xh. N., 24 years old, resident of neighborhood no. 12, Durrës, on the street with a cutting tool (knife).
Citizen OM, a passerby who intervened when the father injured his daughter with a cutting tool (knife), was also injured. The injured are in the Durrës Regional Hospital, under the care of doctors, and their lives are out of danger.
"Work is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident, identify and apprehend the perpetrator. Meanwhile, the Police services are continuing their work to apprehend the 56-year-old man," the Police statement said.
