Already with the amendments approved in the Law "On Citizenship" by the Parliament of Albania, at the proposal of the Government, the opportunity is created for sports talents who were born and live outside Albania, to be equipped with the Albanian passport even when they have not reached the age of 18.
The Assembly approved yesterday with 95 votes in favor and 1 against the law on the additionality that facilitates the acquisition of citizenship. Likewise, children born in Albania to foreign parents can obtain Albanian citizenship, provided that the parents give their consent, when the child is under 18 years old.
This change in the Citizenship Law comes within the framework of the government's policies to attract talents or qualities in the field of education, science, art, culture, economy and sports.
"Now with the amendments approved in the Law "On Citizenship" by the Parliament of Albania, at the proposal of the Government, the opportunity is created for sports talents who were born and live outside Albania, to be equipped with the Albanian passport even when they have not reached the age of 18 "- writes Rama.
