The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has sentenced citizen Erio Zejno to 7 years and 4 months in prison, accused of involvement in a structured criminal group and providing the conditions for committing murders.
According to the decision announced this Thursday, Zejno was found guilty of the criminal offenses of "Providing conditions and material means to commit murder", "Unauthorized possession of weapons and ammunition" and "Participation in a structured criminal group".
Initially, the Court sentenced him to a total of 11 years in prison, but because the trial was conducted in a summary trial, he received a one-third reduction in his sentence. As a result, the final sentence was set at 7 years and 4 months in prison.
According to the SPAK file, Zejno is accused of having provided the conditions and means to carry out an assassination attempt in Vlora against Inez Hajrulla, known as 'the cripple', and Ervis Matodashaj, known by the nickname 'the blind'.
Along with Zejno, SPAK also brought Leonard Luzi, Amarildo Nikolli and Muharem Koroveshi to trial. According to the prosecution, the perpetrator of the murders of Hajrulla and Matodashaj was Amarildo Nikolli, while Leonard Luzi was the mastermind. While the other two defendants, Zejno and Koroveshi, provided the weapons for the crime.
