Aunt rapes minor niece over property dispute, how the incident was manipulated

In December last year, the show "Stop" on TV Klan broadcast a case in Saranda. In 2023, a 13-year-old minor was raped by her aunt, following a property dispute between the latter and her sister, the girl's mother.

According to initial police information, the abusive aunt was arrested that day for assaulting her minor niece. However, officially, the Saranda Police Department reports that the aunt was the accuser, as if she had been raped by her sister and niece. The minor's complaint was received late at night, with the excuse that the computers were not working.

After the case was transferred to the police, it was transferred to the prosecutor's office where, according to evidence, OPGJ Jonida Zhupa was seen close and sitting in a cafe with the accused aunt, at the time when the statements of the incident were being taken, days later. After questioning, the 13-year-old was admitted to Saranda Hospital, where she remained hospitalized for a day and any injuries were reflected in her medical record and then in the expert report.

But the OPGJ and prosecutor Esmeralda Basho have not attached photos of the violence to the case file. Former Director of the Scientific Police Vladimir Ikonomi explained that every expert report of any kind must be accompanied by photos.

Immediately after the broadcast of this case, prosecutor Esmeralda Basho sent the case to court, without properly concluding the investigations. From the verifications of the show "Stop" it results that this prosecutor is not specialized in cases involving minors, at a time when there are other prosecutors in Saranda specialized in these cases.

"But, it is very important for an expert report to be reliable, to be concrete for the parties who will receive the prosecutor, judge or lawyer, the result must be concretized on the photographic table. In cases where there is no concretization on the photographic table, which concretizes the expert's work, the raw material is missing. We cannot conduct a re-inspection when the raw material is missing,"  said the expert.

On the other hand, Prosecutor Basho has also eliminated witnesses. Regarding a female eyewitness to the event, the prosecutor declares in court that this person does not appear or exists at all, a person who was found by the show "Stop".
