More details are emerging from the tragedy in North Macedonia where 51 people lost their lives and over 100 others were injured as a result of a fire that engulfed a discotheque in the city of Kocani.

Albanian media in North Macedonia report that the private discotheque where the tragedy occurred has been operating for years.

According to them, its owners have changed over the years, but the current owner, who was arrested by the police, had his license expire on March 24th.

Police have arrested several people in connection with this tragic incident.

It is initially suspected that the cause of the fire at the discotheque was the throwing of pyrotechnic devices.
