Sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife/ The daughter gave up his surname, Babis Anagnostopoulos breaks his silence

After the girl has given up his surname, taking her mother's, comes the first reaction from the killer pilot, Babis Anagnostopoulos. The latter killed his wife Caroline Crouchs in front of their young daughter and planned it as a robbery. According to TheNewspaper.gr, Babis Anagnostopoulos is said to have said: "We want the best for the girl. I have full faith in her grandmother".
Caroline's family wants the child to be completely separated from his father
Changing the minor Lidia's last name was the final act in the grandmother's decision to separate the child from the paternal family of Babis Anagnostopoulos and from everything related to the brutal murder of her mother. Already, for more than a year, little Lidia's grandmother, who has full custody, has started the procedures from the Philippines to change the surname that her daughter Caroline already bears. The judicial authorities in the Philippines, to whom Ms. Susan Crouch originally addressed the request, forwarded the letter to the Greek government and, taking into account the court's rulings, proceeded with the request.
After the procedures in Agia Paraskevi, the surname change was approved for little Lidia. Thus, the little girl will now bear the surname Crouchs. “The process ended and she took the surname Crouch. Based on the interest of the child, the family decided and started the process of changing the last name so that little Lidia no longer bears the last name of a terrible killer who has remained in everyone's memory," said Karolina's family lawyer.
According to the lawyer, little Lidia's grandmother does not want the child to have anything to do with Greece, and within this "isolation" is also the change of last name. No communication between Lidia and Babis Anagnostopoulos even between his parents. In September 2023, the Court of Appeal of Athens sentenced Babis Anagnostopoulos to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife Caroline Crouchs. About two years ago, he tried to contact Caroline's child and family, but to no avail, and since then there has been no communication with little Lidia, nor have Babis Anagnostopoulos' parents had any contact with the little girl.
