The weekend has brought cold weather across the Balkan Peninsula.
Local media in Bulgaria reported more than 1,000 regions without electricity at the weekend due to cold weather, strong winds and heavy rain and snow in some areas.
"In Sofia, the power supply has been interrupted due to damage to the electric lines". Also, due to damage to electric lines, the movement of passenger trains from the city of Varna to the Black Sea in Sofia has been suspended.
