Houthi rebels attack Israel with missiles, air defenses activated

A rocket has been launched from Yemen towards Israel, and Israeli air defense systems have been activated to intercept it, the Israeli military announced.

The Houthi movement rebels claimed responsibility for the attack, saying in a statement on social media that they were targeting several "sensitive" military targets, including Tel Aviv airport.

This is the fifth attack launched by Yemen since the conflict began to escalate in late February.

The Houthi rebel movement, backed by Iran, has previously expressed support for Hamas and has been actively involved in recent developments in the region.

The situation remains tense, as attacks and counterattacks are increasing the risk of a broader escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
