Erdogan and Zelensky met in Istanbul, here's what was discussed

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that he had agreed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to take new steps in their security cooperation, adding that the political will exists and that working groups of the two countries will finalize the details soon.

"This applies primarily to the areas in which we can support Turkey: knowledge, technology and experience," he wrote in a post on Telegram after meeting with Erdogan in Istanbul.

Foreign media reports that Zelensky said the two leaders discussed possible cooperation in joint gas infrastructure projects and the exploitation of gas fields. Erdogan told Zelensky that Turkey would continue to support negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, according to a statement from the Turkish presidency. He also noted that Turkey attaches great importance to the safety of navigation in the Black Sea and that security of energy supply is vital.

U.S. envoys Witkoff, Kushner may visit Kiev soon. U.S. special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner may visit Kiev in April, a senior adviser to Ukrainian President Kyrylo Budanov said Monday, as efforts continue to revive peace talks with Russia, which have been frozen since the outbreak of the Gulf War.

“Kushner, Witkoff, (Senator) Lindsey Graham — they are expected to come. Who else will be there, we’ll see,” Budanov told Bloomberg, adding that the visit could take place right after Orthodox Easter, on April 12. This will be the first official visit to Kiev by Witkoff and Kushner, who have so far traveled to Moscow for talks with the Russians but are meeting with Ukrainian representatives in the United States.
