US President Donald Trump jokingly said he would like to be the next Pope. "I would like to be Pope. That would be my number one choice," the White House chief said with a laugh.
Trump went on to say that he did not have a preference for who the new Pope should be, but suggested that Timothy Dolan, the Archbishop of New York, could be a good choice.
“I don’t know. I don’t have a preference,” he said. “But I have to say we have a cardinal from a place called New York who is very good, so we’ll see what happens.”
Cardinals will meet next week in a secret conclave to elect the new head of the Catholic Church following the death of Pope Francis.
