Dutch intelligence chief: We are preparing for a possible war with Russia

Amsterdam is preparing for a possible armed conflict with Moscow – warns the Dutch intelligence chief.
Vice Admiral Pieter Reesink, head of Dutch military intelligence (MIVD), told Politico that Russia's increasing military escalation points to preparations for a future war — and not just in Ukraine.
In 2024, Russia's defense budget increased to $149 billion – 38 percent more than last year, and twice as high as it was in 2015.
“Russia is producing far more artillery – with foreign help – than it needs for Ukraine,” Reesink said.
He warned that Moscow is not just replenishing its arsenal, but is moving its incendiary power closer to NATO's borders, including the Baltic states and Finland.
