Spain in trouble again, train copper cables stolen

Spain has been plunged into "darkness" again, not due to a lack of electricity, but to the blockage of train traffic.

At least 30 trains are reportedly not running, leaving 10,000 passengers stranded in Madrid, Seville, Malaga, Valencia and Granada. The disruption comes just before the week-long "Feria" festival in Seville, where the cables were stolen.

According to the Spanish Minister of Transport, the places where the thefts were committed were areas with access to forests. In this way, the perpetrators had an easy time covering their tracks.

Over the past few years, the price of copper has increased significantly, which has also resulted in the theft of train cables, as they can profit from selling them due to the expensive material.

We recall that a week ago Spain and Portugal were involved in a total "black-out", after a relatively long power outage, which paralyzed everyone's life for residents of these countries but also tourists. The cause of the power outage still remains unclear, and there were suspicions of a cyber attack.
