Pope Francis' funeral, here is the date when the Holy Father will be taken to his final resting place

The day after the death of Pope Francis, the first General Congregation of Cardinals met in the Synod Hall, which set the date of the funeral.

Pope Francis will be escorted to his final residence on Saturday morning at 10 a.m., in a ceremony presided over by Cardinal Dean Giovanni Battista Re.

Tomorrow the body will be transferred to St. Peter's, where it will remain on display until Friday for the faithful to pay their last respects.

Meanwhile, the first images of Pope Francis' body have been released, holding a red scarf and a rosary in his hands.
