Businesses and administration are "disrupted", unpaid contributions

Tax debt in the form of unpaid social and health insurance contributions is rising rapidly in both the public and private sectors, signaling drama for those working today who will run out of pensions in old age.

Official data from the General Directorate of Taxes report that during the past year the debt for unpaid contributions reached 20.5 billion ALL with a 16 percent increase compared to 2021.

Business debts in this item have grown rapidly in recent years, where the stock expanded by 57% compared to 2018, where its value was ALL 13.8 billion.

Social security debt is the worst part of tax debt because of the social drama it carries. Thousands of employees who currently work in the state or in the private sector risk being left without a pension in old age. The phenomenon is more widespread in public entities.

Budgetary units that are administered by the local government, such as water supply companies, educational directorates, green cleaning workers, are often not paid insurance, as the funds for this purpose are transferred to other expenses.

Instead of being restrained, this debt is expanding rapidly from year to year, putting in difficulty not only the social security fund, but also pensions in the future.
