Tourism, another record / Eurostat, Albania with the largest increase in overnight stays

Eurostat figures show that in the first six months of the year our country has the strongest increase in overnight stays in accommodation structures compared to last year, being the first in Europe.
The growth for these six months was 44.1% for Albania, followed by Cyprus and Montenegro. Meanwhile, the EU's average change in these six months was 12.9%.
Total overnight stays from January to June reached 1.7 million, where 64% of them were from foreign tourists. Our country has reached the figures of Montenegro, which in this period has 1.79 million overnight stays.
The spending figures of tourists in Albania also set a record, nearly 1.55 billion euros that they brought to the country in the first six months.
This does not count the expenses they have made for daily rentals on Airbnb, where about 13,000 private apartments are listed. Meanwhile, INSTAT has reported that apart from hotels and other short-term structures, Albania has an increase in overnight stays by 50% in terms of campers and campsites.
From the figures of Eurostat, meanwhile, it can be seen that our country has performed quite poorly in the first two months of the year, where the increase in internet traffic was anemic. Mountain and winter tourism has not yet completed Albania's tourist offer, to transform it into year-round tourism.
