Berisha, by attacking Basha, is helping Rama

Edi Rama is going through one of the most difficult political moments of his career. SPAK has entered the heart of the Prime Minister's Office, yesterday his close man, former Secretary General Agaçi, resigned after three hours at SPAK, while another close figure known as the crime coordinator, Agasi, is being sought by this institution.
In this situation, precisely when the Rama government is at its weakest, Berisha should be focused on the fight against Rama and why the mandate commission for Balluku is not meeting. But Berisha has chosen to return to the continuous attacks on Lulzim Basha, shifting attention from the real problem. This behavior gives political and media "oxygen" to Rama and creates the impression that there is a silent agreement between them, Berisha distracts the opposition and becomes a barricade while Rama remains untouched.
The public debate today should have been focused on Rama’s open attacks on SPAK, the institution that was established as a hope for independent justice. But the opposition’s energy is channeled elsewhere: in personal battles and the slanders that Berisha articulates against Basha. This is clearly seen in Berisha’s attacks on Basha, which have no real political effect. As Machiavelli says: “He who fights the wrong enemy often serves secret friends.” Basha today has no institutional role and cannot influence current decision-making, while Rama continues to attack SPAK and the institutions that should hold the government accountable.
On the ground, the reality is clear: the protests called by Berisha are small and without impact, compared to those of Basha in 2019. Berisha does not even have the power to break through the police cordon in front of the Prime Minister's Office, confirming his political weakness to produce any real rotation. Yet he continues to stand there.
Essentially, it seems that Rama and Berisha are in a common predicament, a predicament that has the name SPAK. One openly attacks it, the other uses it as a selective flag, but both know that independent justice is the factor that disrupts their political peace. In this game, Berisha is playing the role that Rama needs: to distract attention from real problems, to keep the old conflict burning and to become an obstacle to political rotation.
As Aristotle said: “True friends seem to share fate and interest, even when they do not speak.”
Perhaps this is the paradox of our time, not declared friendship, but a silent coexistence of interest.
