Sali Berisha has closed the political “deal” for the Territorial Reform. Not in the interest of the Democrats, but in his own interest. Knowing that the Democrats will not approve what he has agreed to do, he is building an alibi of leaving the Commission, so that tomorrow he can say that Rama did the Reform. Beyond that, since the Reform is not expected to produce electoral benefits for the Democrats, he will come out again and say that the reform is done by the “regime”, that the opposition cannot be part of it, and so on.
If you are not part of the regime, then leave, get out of the system altogether. If you are not part of this masquerade, go and take to the streets, in the squares, and do not be at all embarrassed by the violence or the slogans that will fall on your hypocrisy. But the truth is completely different. Berisha is using the same old scheme, also known in the archaic language of couples as "pull and don't break".
Sali Berisha votes for the Peace Board, under the justification that Albania owes the US aid for Kosovo, while on the other hand he leaves the Democrats in the lurch in what is the most important reform of the new political decade, the Territorial Reform, which will affect political decision-making, the economy, social life and, above all, directly the Democrats themselves.
So, Berisha votes for the Peace Board, but does not vote for Territorial Reform.
As if Trump's personal pleasure were more important than the sacrifice of Vrenozi and his friends.
The scheme this time will be hidden behind a staged “protest aggression”, which will produce nothing other than maintaining the opposition’s monopoly. Everything will seem as if he is not leaving the democrats in the lurch, as if he is fighting, as if he is sacrificing, as if he is doing everything in his new invention of the “last kilometers”, with Chinese fireworks. In essence, it is a repeated circus, the same ritual from the old book of international denunciations, which after 2029 will return to the public bust: “Electoral farce”, without which Sali Berisha cannot survive politically.
On the other hand, and no less importantly, the scheme also keeps his resistance to justice in the bunker of the blind for the Democrats.
Because at the end of the day, the problem is not Territorial Reform. The problem is a leader who feeds on conflict, who lives by alibi and who survives only by producing failure. When you know you are politically finished, you do not fight to win, you fight to postpone the end. When you know you are lost, you do not face reality, but you lie to yourself that even after political death you can be resurrected. History, however, has shown that farces can last, but they cannot rule forever.
