Woman dies from chocolate given to her by fortune teller who predicted she would 'die soon'

Investigators in Brazil are baffled by the story of a young woman who died after eating a bar of chocolate given to her by a palm reader who predicted she "didn't have long to live".
"She had blurred vision and vision, her body was soft ... after a few hours she died," stunned cousin Bianca Cristina told the local Globo 1 network about the untimely death.
The tragedy reportedly happened on August 3 when 27-year-old Fernanda Silva Valoz da Cruz Pinto was walking in the center of the Brazilian city of Maceió, which is known for its many fortune tellers, writes the local Jam Press network.
The mother-of-one is believed to have been stopped by an elderly woman who offered to read her palm.
Pinto had accepted and then the fortune teller had told the young woman that "she didn't have much to live on".
The fortune teller had then given Pinto a piece of chocolate as a gift. "The dessert was packaged, and she didn't think it could be dangerous," her cousin Cristina told the media. "She had been hungry and decided to eat it."
A few hours after eating it, it is reported that Pinto began to feel ill, with symptoms such as vomiting, blurred vision.

Unfortunately, the examinations could not confirm that the poisoning had come from the sweets given to Pinto, Globo 1 wrote.
The police have not yet identified the fortune teller with whom the victim had met.
Her case is registered as "a matter to be clarified, pending scientific results."
Pinto orphans her 9-year-old daughter with special needs.
