Christiane Amanpour, the well-known CNN journalist, interviewed the president of Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic, regarding the recent developments in the north of Kosovo. Vucic admitted that the military troops have been withdrawn from the border between the two countries, after calls from the US and the EU, as he justified himself with the fact that the military leaders decide on military maneuvers and not him.
Vucic said that he never wants a war with Kosovo, as it would be a conflict with NATO.
“There's nothing to worry about now. We want to see a greater presence of KFOR in Kosovo" , said the Serbian president.
To Amanpour's question whether the organizer of the attack in Banjska, Milan Radojčič, would be brought to justice, Vučič responded by saying that justice will do its job, but without confirming whether it will hand him over to the Kosovo authorities.
"The problem is that the Serbs wanted to defend themselves and I will not defend the killing of an Albanian policeman, I did not do it. I condemned him", underlined Vucic.
He accused Pristina of carrying out "gradual ethnic cleansing" in the north, which Amanpour said the European Union and the US disagreed with.

Në një moment, Amanpour i përmend president serb se zakonisht flet ndryshe për ndërkombëtarët dhe ndryshe për popullin serb, konstatim i cili irritoi pa masë Vuçiçin që tentoi ta korrigjonte gazetaren e CNN.
“Kam bërë gjithçka që u kam thënë miqve tanë nga SHBA-ja dhe BE-ja se do të bëj, dhe ekziston kushtetuta e Serbisë dhe duhet ta respektoj atë”, tha Vuçiç.
Duke u krenuar që në takimin e fundit në Bruksel doli pala konstruktive, ai tha se kishte vendosur një ofertë në tryeze për kryeministrin e Kosovës, Albin Kurti, se do të zbatonte çdo pikë të marrëveshjes së normalizimit, nëse Kosova formon asociacionin.
Një tjetër pyetje që irritoi Vuçiçin, ishte ajo e raporteve me Millorad Dodik, me Amanpour që kërkoi përgjigje nëse qëndronte Vuçiç pas tensioneve te fundit në Bosnje dhe Hercegovinë, ku Republika Srpska kërcënon me shkëputje.
“Mos vendosni fjalë në gojën time që s’i kam thënë unë”, u përgjigj Vuçiç, mjaft i irrituar.
Në fund u pyet edhe nëse mbështet mesazhin e sportistit Novak Gjokoviç, ku gjatë një eventi shkruajti në kamera “Kosova është zemra e Serbisë”, duke u përgjigjur se është një ide që e përkrah 99% e popullatës në Serbi, duke lënë të kuptohet, përfshirë vetë atë.
