NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that the alliance has approved the deployment of additional peacekeeping forces to Kosovo following the unrest along the Kosovo-Serbia border.
"We call on all parties to urgently de-escalate the situation. We continue to call on Belgrade and Pristina to engage in EU-mediated dialogue as the only way to resolve outstanding issues and reach solutions that respect the rights of all communities. This is the key to sustainable security in Kosovo and stability in the region," said the NATO Secretary General.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed NATO's decision, saying that Serbia wants to destabilize the region with the help of Russia.
