NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will visit Kosovo today, where he will meet with President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

The Presidency's press release states that the meeting between Osman and Rutte will take place at 1:45 PM.

"The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, is hosting a meeting with NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte. The media will be able to capture footage from the reception and the beginning of the meeting, while after the meeting, Osmani and Rutte will hold a press conference," the announcement states.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Kurti will host NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at a meeting at 2:50 PM.

"The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, is hosting NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte," the announcement states.

Rutte is expected to be in Pristina to provide guarantees that the European contingent within the alliance's mission in Kosovo, KFOR, will remain there, regardless of any movement of US military forces.

A total of 4,686 troops from 29 countries around the world currently serve in Kosovo, as part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) peacekeeping mission, KFOR.

More than half of the forces are from Italy, the United States, Hungary and Turkey. NATO has increased its presence in Kosovo through 2023, following rising tensions in the Serb-majority north.
