Berisha gives the final answer: I will leave politics only when God takes me!

After losing the 2013 elections, Sali Berisha stepped down as leader of the Democratic Party and from all other positions, remaining only as an MP. He returned to the center of Albanian politics in 2021 when he was declared persona non grata by the US and when Lulzim Basha, leader of the DP at the time, expelled him from the party.
After the political battle within the blue ranks, Sali Berisha managed to be voted back as leader of the DP and gather the majority of the Democrats after the great division, while today the DP leads the opposition coalition, seeking to win the parliamentary elections of May 11.
But when does Sali Berisha plan to step down, considering the recent news from the US that the US State Department under the Trump administration considers the "non grata" designation of him a political decision by the Biden administration and former Secretary Blinken?
Sali Berisha gave a sincere answer to this question on the Opinion show on Tv Klan, where he was invited this Thursday evening.
Blendi Fevziu: How close are you today to the Trump administration with your people and lobbying studio?
Sali Berisha: President Donald Trump learned his stance towards me before he became President.
Blendi Fevziu: Has he been informed about this issue?
Blendi Fevziu: Was there a reaction to this?
Sali Berisha: That's all I have the opportunity to speak on this issue.
Blendi Fevziu: In today's administration, do you have access to people close to him?
Sali Berisha: People who have dealt with my case and without any request from me are today members of President Trump's cabinet, others are in important positions, but this does not mean that I have met them and known them.
Blendi Fevziu: Does this help you in the elections?
Sali Berisha: Albanians understood the greater truth about why Sali Berisha stayed. Even the last Albanian who may have had the slightest reservation, when he hears from the State Department that this was a political decision against the Albanian opposition, it is clear that I was defending his interests and not mine.
Blendi Fevziu: Now that this decision is about to be repealed, you could find an opportunity to step down and leave a new candidate to run for Prime Minister.
Sali Berisha: In my battle against the first dictatorship I had a concept; When I saw the support that the dictatorship had, I considered the general social psychology a glacier. And I thought that we should do everything to melt the ice and get people out of the freeze. Here too, the worship of America was the most legitimate thing. This frees minds, even the last minds of what people may have thought that no, Berisha is not right. It is a very powerful support.
Blendi Fevziu: Now that you have completed this important step, do you think you can retire?
Sali Berisha : Should I withdraw? The missionary is only withdrawn by one factor, the great God.
Blendi Fevziu : Only God, not from votes?
Sali Berisha: Only God draws a missionary. God draws the missionary. The missionary can never betray God. He who embarks on a mission in the most unequal conditions, has God as his hope and trust first and foremost.
Blendi Fevziu: Këlliçi here in the studio 2 weeks ago declared that we are not fighting to make Sali Berisha Prime Minister of Albania. Wouldn't you be Prime Minister if you won?
Sali Berisha: No, we are fighting for the mission, all of them are fighting for a mission. This is the mission.
Blendi Fevziu: If you win the elections, who will be Prime Minister of the coalition for Greater Albania?
Sali Berisha: I was Prime Minister and in those years I had my flaws, but I left behind great things.
